Join us for Forward Together, celebrating the groundbreaking

  1. It has been brought to my attention that this new building will not have solar panels on its roof. Is this not the School of Public and ENVIRONMENTAL Affairs? Why not have a small array installed to show that this place is leading the way for a sustainable future?

    1. Hi Anonymous:

Thank you for pointing that out. We do know the architects for SPEA’s expansion and renovation project are working toward Gold LEED standards in the completed building. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. While we won’t know our approved designation until the completed building is reviewed and certified, we will investigate what sustainable features the building is and isn’t going to incorporate and why—look for a blog post on this in the future.
