Plaza gravel work begins on September 8

From Chad Sweatman, Manager, Building Support Services:

Starting tomorrow morning (September 8), workers will begin pumping gravel to the plaza (pictured above). Weather permitting, this should take four days and the work will be completed Sunday, September 11. The equipment will be located on the Tenth Street side of the building and pipes will run up the new stairs to the courtyard. The gravel is needed to establish the final grade and is the base for the pavers. The bulk of the noise will be noticed outside the building near the work site. It’s unclear how much will transfer into the south wing of the SPEA building. There is a possibility that the equipment will need to be moved to the north side of the building Saturday and Sunday if they have trouble reaching everything from the south.

This task has been scheduled at the end of the week and the weekend to help minimize in any impacts. Thank you for your continued understanding throughout our construction project.
